Bob and Barbara Cline are happily involved in all the activities required to maintain approximatelt 5,000 trees
to produce quality fruit on 35 acres of their 88 acre property. Only five minutes from Heritage Mall in Owen Sound, it is located on the Niagara Escarpment which provides good air and water drainage. Also, fertile clay loam soil provides flavourful fruit. The fruit is harvested by local pickers. We encourage families to come and pick, as well as walk through the orchards and enjoy the beautiful countryside. We are glad to provide information about the farm and the fruit. We have been wonderfully blessed, and would like to share this blessing with you! |

| Bob's background in research at the Horticultural Research Institute of Ontario at Vineland Station has provided him with the knowledge and experience helpful in managing the orchards. |

| Barbara's food and nutrition training has made her aware of the importance of healthy eating habits, and a nutritionally balanced diet, which naturally includes the daily consumption of fruits and vegetables. The west-facing slope of the farm, and the nearness to water, make this a natural site for growing fruit. The winbreaks of poplar, spruce and cedar, planted by the Clines in the 1980's, provide additional protection for both trees and fruit. | From approximately August 1, the first early apples are available and we pick fresh apples until approximately November 1. Several varieties of pears are available from mid-August until November 1, then Anjou from the cold storage until March. Some apples are available from cold storage until April. As well as crisp, fresh fruit from cold storage, we sell our Soundview honey, homemade jams, jellies, relishes, chili sauce, pies, buttertarts, cookies and other baking and products. Honey, baking and other products are available all year. |
Developing a successful orchard has been the Cline's dream. And this is an ideal and beautiful area of Grey County in which to live and fulfil that dream.
